My Involvement: Fractional CFO / COO

Emma Butler is part mystery novel enthusiast, part oil painter, and part English Bulldog fanatic. From a young age she was always interested in apparel design and knew it would be an integral part of her life.

Emma became aware of adaptive apparel through her mom who was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia when Emma was 12. She saw how her mom changed after her diagnosis and the effects of chronic pain. When Emma started Brown University she met students with chronic illnesses and other disabilities and decided to do more research on how disabilities and chronic pain affect women getting dressed. This aligned her love for apparel design and her devotion to her mother and others going through the same life challenges.

Intimately.co's goal is to bring confidence to women with disabilities through a better lingerie shopping experience; an experience that helps to define a woman's femininity, personal identity, and self-assurance. We are a one-stop-shop for disabled women to shop for functional and fashionable undergarments.

Julia is my fractional CFO and COO and I could not do what I do with out her! She has completely saved our finances, makes the best projections and recommendations for the future, and is the hardest working person I know. She is straight-laced and brilliant, a key combination for doing the best financial projections that are realistic but aggressive.

Project: Company Diagnostics & Financial Model

Pretty Well Beauty.png

Jazmin is a former fashion and beauty producer. She has been a consumer and advocate for clean beauty long before it was a trend, as it was embedded into her DNA from the beginning.

A first-time entrepreneur and solo founder, her hope is to inspire other women who are thinking about taking the leap and building their own brands.

She founded Pretty Well Beauty, a curated clean beauty marketplace that partners with brands adhering to the highest standards of clean and sustainability, introducing an inclusive yet holistic approach to personal care.

The goal is not to be the biggest clean beauty retailer, but the best and #1 trusted in the business.

Pretty Well Beauty is the launchpad for global brands with various channels to reach their target audience.

I’m not a numbers person AT ALL. I knew from the beginning that I would eventually need to bring someone on to help me with building out a financial model to raise capital. Julia has been a lifesaver - she helped me gain a much better understanding of my company’s financial health, and helped Pretty Well Beauty develop an achievable growth strategy. If I ever have a question or need anything, Julia is always on top of it and I know I can count on her!

Perkies

Project: Financial Model & Pitch Deck

Perkies.png

Rosie always had a keen interest in entrepreneurship and wanted to create products that solve customer pain points.

A Brown University alumna who concentrated in Business & Entrepreneurship, she brought her business idea to life through her entrepreneurship class in college.

She founded Perkies (launching soon!), creating innovative and functional undergarments designed for adventurous, joyful women.

Their signature product, the Perkies sticky bra, is the only sticky bra offering replaceable adhesives, solving all three major customer pain points:

1) lose adhesion after a few wears;

2) get dirty easily;

3) expensive to replace.

Working with Julia has been incredible - just by having her name in my deck adds value, let alone the interactive and comprehensive financial spreadsheet she helped create, as well as the balance sheet and cash flow statement that stemmed from the model.

Julia quickly grasped on to the complexities of my financial model. She concisely portrayed the anticipated projections through beautiful graphs and simple switch tabs, so I can easily make input edits and see how they infiltrate throughout the entire model dynamically.

- Rosie Mangiarotti, Founder & CEO of Perkies
